{"id":1236,"date":"2011-01-26T09:28:31","date_gmt":"2011-01-26T16:28:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dadcents.com\/?p=1236"},"modified":"2011-01-26T09:29:51","modified_gmt":"2011-01-26T16:29:51","slug":"1-26-2011-proverbs-265","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dadcents.com\/2011\/01\/1-26-2011-proverbs-265\/","title":{"rendered":"1.26.2011 Proverbs 26:5"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Proverbs Post #30-<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Today I was reading in chapter 26, and verse 5 jumped out to me today.\u00a0 It says:<\/span><\/p>\n<address style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>26:5<\/strong> Answer a fool according to his folly,<\/span><\/address>\n<address style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">lest he be wise in his own estimation.<\/span><\/address>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Proverbs 26 is a great chapter for parents!\u00a0 Almost every verse is about fools.\u00a0 No, not you, although every parent \u00a0wonders once in a while, I am talking about our children.\u00a0 Can I get an AMEN?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Raise your hand if you have done something foolish in your life time!\u00a0 Ok, everyone can put their hands down now, including me.\u00a0 How did your parents react to your foolishness?\u00a0 Did they reprimand you?\u00a0 Did they punish you?\u00a0 Did they correct you or just let it go?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I believe parents are given instruction in verse five, which says &#8220;Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his <strong>own estimation<\/strong>.&#8221;\u00a0 I highlighted &#8220;own estimation&#8221; because this is the key point in the verse that I want you to consider.\u00a0 Think back to the time when you were in high school and how your parents did not know anything!\u00a0 They were so old, uncool and unknowledgeable.\u00a0 However, this opinion was in your &#8220;own estimation,&#8221; and probably as you got older, your parents became much wiser.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0Here&#8217;s the bottom line.\u00a0 You and I probably questioned our parents because we thought they were basing the rules we had to live by from their own opinion or intelligence, not God&#8217;s word.\u00a0 Help your kids see that the guidance you are giving them is from God&#8217;s word, not just from the wisdom of &#8220;dad or mom!&#8221;\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Are you answering a fool or creating one?
