{"id":1322,"date":"2011-02-14T15:55:42","date_gmt":"2011-02-14T22:55:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dadcents.com\/?p=1322"},"modified":"2011-02-14T16:10:05","modified_gmt":"2011-02-14T23:10:05","slug":"2-14-2011-proverbs-1431","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dadcents.com\/2011\/02\/2-14-2011-proverbs-1431\/","title":{"rendered":"2.14.2011 Proverbs 14:31"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Proverbs Post #35-<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Today I was reading in chapter 14, and verse 31 jumped out to me today.\u00a0 It says:<\/span><\/p>\n<address style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>14:31<\/strong> The one who oppresses the poor insults his Creator,<br \/>\nbut whoever shows favor to the needy honors Him.<\/span><\/address>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Am I really using this verse on Valentine&#8217;s Day? Yes, I am. This is the day we set aside every year to honor our loved, and hopefully esteemed, spouse(if you are married). I hope you are able to spend time with your spouse as I could\u00a0 last night for dinner.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I find I am able to show favor to my wife, daughters, friends and family (most of the time), but I struggle with helping the needy. I am pretty sure I do not oppress anyone (my daughters are too young to disagree yet) but showing favor is difficult.\u00a0 I have the tendency to look the other way or &#8220;not see someone&#8221; rather than help. Am I oppressing the poor? No, but I am convicted that I am not as effective as I could be in showing favor to the needy and, therefore, not honoring God!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Are you insulting our Creator or honoring God?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I want to challenge you to take up reading the Proverb of the day and the entire chapter as well.\u00a0 Lord, please help each one of us to keep our focus on things above and not the things of this earth.\u00a0 Amen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I am using the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bible.org\/\">Net Bible<\/a> to quote from for these posts<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Proverbs Post #35- Today I was reading in chapter 14, and verse 31 jumped out to me today.\u00a0 It says: 14:31 The one who oppresses the poor insults his Creator, but whoever shows favor to the needy honors Him.
